There is no shortage of Italian restaurants in Łódź, admittedly, but the discreet outdoor seating in Otwarte Drzwi make this a good choice in the centre of the city.
Otwarte Drzwi
Split across a few rooms, with a pleasant courtyard area and decking outside, Otwarte Drzwi is an Italian restaurant in one of the many passageways off the main ul. Piotrkowska – follow the building numbers until you reach 120 and follow the alleyway down. The restaurant is on the left. You’ll also find the Stare Kino Cinema Residence down here.
The tangy tomato soup here is a surprise hit, and there’s some crunchy coconut shrimp in breadcrumbs, alongside plates of cheesy gnocchi and other well-prepared pasta and pizzas. It’s also a great place to sit outside on a warm day with a mason jar full of juice or an ice cold mojito. The name means ‘open door’.
