Only 6 kilometres from the city centre, Władysław Reymont Airport is easily reached from Łódź by bus and taxi. We explain how to get there and what to expect once you arrive.
Łódź Airport building
Łódź Władysław Reymont Airport only has about 15 flights a week covering Alicante, Birmingham, Brussels Charleroi, Dublin, London Stansted, Malaga, and Milan Bergamo (at time of writing). If none of these are convenient for you, it probably makes more sense to travel via Warsaw Chopin instead of Łódź Airport – see our page How To Get To Łódź.
Due to the relative lack of flights, travelling through Łódź Władysław Reymont is a very peaceful experience, as the airport is generally only handling one plane load of passengers at a time. See our dedicated Łódź Airport page for details of services and facilities.
Getting to Łódź Airport is pretty quick, cheap, and speedy, with two main choices: bus or taxi. Our How to Get to Łódź City Centre from Łódź Airport guide covers transport for new arrivals.
Łódź tram
Transport To Łódź Airport
Łódź Airport is only 8km from the city centre and is generally easy to get to. As with all flights, you should allow adequate time to arrive, check in, and pass through security. However, as the earliest flight out is at 9.15am and the latest is at 10.55pm, you shouldn’t have to get there at an unsociable hour.
Expect a taxi to take 15-20 minutes and the bus to take about 30 minutes. Buses generally run every 20 minutes, though you will probably need to start your journey on a tram and change.

Airport bus
Bus To Warsaw Airport
There are basically two buses that run to the airport: the 65A and 65B. However, you are likely to need a combination of tram and bus, and any public transport depends very much on where you’re staying. Use the fantastic Jakdojade journey planner to work out the best route. I’ve found the routes provided by Google Maps can take longer and be a bit confusing.
If you download the app, it will grab your current location or the departure field will autocomplete many hotels in the city. Use ‘Łódź Władysław Reymont Airport’ as the destination. Then it will work out a timetable of options for you with times, connections, and walking instructions. You can also buy tickets directly within the app. The iPhone version has Apple Sign-In and Apple Pay, so I was able to set an account up in less than a minute!
- Jakdojade iOS App Store
- Jakdojade Google Play
- Jakdojade Huawei AppGallery
Note that the app requires a minimum top-up of 30zł, so it doesn’t make sense to buy your ticket on it for just this one journey.
If you don’t want to buy through the app, there is a ticket machine on the platform at Piotrkowska Centrum, and usually on the tram itself, with an English language option and card payment.
You can change vehicles, you just need a ticket that covers the duration of your trip. This would generally be a 40-minute ticket costing 5.60zł. But, just to confuse the issue, there is currently an extension on ticket times, so a 20-minute ticket (costing 4.40zł) is currently valid for 40 minutes, and the 40-minute ticket currently lasts for 60 minutes. This means the 20-minute ticket will cover your 30-minute journey into town. These extension times, which are to cover delays caused by roadworks, are due to finish at the end of 2024.
Reduced tickets and travel cards are also available. See the official MPK transport page for the latest prices.
If you buy your ticket from a machine, you need to validate it in one of the yellow machines onboard the tram or bus. Just push the ticket in until you hear it stamp. You only need to do this at the very start of your journey, and not if you change vehicles.
Assuming that the Piotrkowska Centrum stop is your point of departure, catch any tram going to either Włókniarzy – Mickiewicza (Dw. Ł. Kaliska) or Bandurskiego – Dw. Łódź Kaliska, such as the 8, 10B, 14, or 18. These are both just two stops from Centrum.
You can then change onto the 65A at the Włókniarzy – Mickiewicza (Dw. Ł. Kaliska) stop or the 65B at the Bandurskiego – Dw. Łódź Kaliska stop. These stops are 310m apart and, in a few cases, you may need to walk between them to catch an earlier bus. But it’s easier to just pick a route, such as the number 8 tram connecting with the 65A bus, where this isn’t necessary. There are 11 or 12 stops and the airport is the final destination. The whole journey takes about 29 minutes and (currently) costs 4.40zł (about 1€).
Bandurskiego – Dw. Łódź Kaliska tram stop
If you get off at the Bandurskiego – Dw. Łódź Kaliska tram stop, you’ll need to cross the road to catch the bus.
Crossing the road
You can see the Bandurskiego – Dw. Łódź Kaliska bus stop on the other side to the left.

Timetables are subject to change, particularly on weekends and public holidays. It should also be noted that if your journey is delayed and your ticket expires, you will need to buy another one for the rest of your journey. This is unlikely but it has happened to me.
Airport check-in
You’ll be dropped off directly outside the Departures area of the airport terminal. Simply enter the building and you’ll see the check-in desk ahead, with security off to the right. The airport is small, with most facilities on the ground floor. You should be able to orientate yourself quite quickly. The upper floor is largely empty.
There is a convenience store and a small bistro on the landside and a few shops and places to eat airside. It is all very comfortable.
As there is generally only one flight in operation at any one time, you can sit in the lobby area and wait for the check-in desk to open. Once you’ve dropped your bags off, you can pass directly through security off to the right. If you are already checked in and have no baggage to drop off, you can head straight through. Things generally move very quickly.
See our dedicated Łódź Airport page for an outline of facilities on either side of security.
Taxi rank directly outside Arrivals
Taxi To Łódź Airport
You can have a taxi pick you up directly from your accommodation. It’s best to book it a couple of days before you’re due to leave. Your hotel will be happy to arrange this.
If you need to sort it out yourself, you can try Green Cab on +48 42 666 44 44 or Taxi 400 400 on +48 42 6 400 400. The journey from central Łódź will take roughly 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic, and should cost about 30zł (7€). Agree on a ballpark figure before accepting the ride. Leave enough time to catch your flight.
Drivers are likely to speak good English but have your destination written down, just in case. It’s “Port Lotniczy Łódź im. Władysława Reymonta” in Polish! Cabs accept card payment, so there’s no need to withdraw or change money at the airport. But, again, it’s always worth checking before you get in.
The journey takes about 20-30 minutes, although traffic can be bad at certain times of day. Leave enough time to catch your flight.
You’ll be dropped off outside Departures, so the experience will be identical to arriving by bus above. You’ll just need to enter the building, check any hold luggage in at the desk in front of you, then pass through security to the right. Very simple.
Hire Car To Łódź Airport
If you’ve rented a car, the hire firm will have their own process for returning the vehicle at the airport. Make sure you have clear instructions in advance and factor in some extra time to troubleshoot any complications. How you approach the terminal will, of course, depend which agency you use and where they want you to leave the car. See the Łódź Airport page for general information about the terminal building.
If you still need to hire a car, you can quickly check availability and compare prices using the search box below.
