Split into four parts, this state-of-the-art zoo features Asian and Pacific animals including Indian elephants, otters, porcupines, red junglefowls, and a family of macaques. The undersea tunnel features well over a thousand marine creatures, including sharks. Finally, there are Sumatran orangutans and other species from the region.
Orientarium ZOO Łódź
Built around the fauna and flora of South-East Asia, Orientarium ZOO Łódź is divided into four parts. The elephants’ area is home to Aleksander, the biggest Indian elephant in Europe, and Taru. They love a nice bath at 11am every morning, and you can watch them feed from the observation deck or see them splashing about from the underwater tunnel.

The second area features two Asian small-clawed otters, called Marlenka and Vincent, Philippine porcupines, and red junglefowls, as well as a family of macaques. Designed to replicate the natural habitats of its inhabitants, the venue includes lush rainforests and other conditions closest to the animals’ original enviroments.
The zoo is also famous for the largest underwater tunnel in the country with an oceanic tank with a range of 1300 fish, including sharks and other rare creatures. There are also smaller tanks with seahorses, triggerfish, and plenty more.
Finally, the warmest zone of the Orientarium features Sumatran orangutans, East Javan langurs, Java mouse-deer, binturongs, and Malay bears, as well as Asian birds and other species not seen in any other Polish zoo.
There is also a mini zoo next to the food court, where you can feed and pet domesticated animals. You’ll find plenty to keep children entertained here in addition to the animals, including educational activities and an adventure playground.
