Aimed at families with 3-to-10-year-olds, The Street of the Elements is a museum where children can learn about the basics of science through play. Kids can experiment with the properties of water, air, fire, and earth with hands-on displays, conduct fun experiments, participate in workshops, and discover this fascinating world in a fun and educational way.
Ulica Żywiołów
Translated as The Street of the Elements, Ulica Żywiołów is a fun science museum designed specifically for younger visitors. The museum is split over three floors and five elemental zones: water, earth, air, fire and life. Virtually every aspect is interactive and has been carefully designed to be engaging, educational, entertaining, and safe. Each zone is bright and, to be honest, I wish more adult museums were built this way.

The space is inclusive too with Braille signage and wide spaces to allow wheelchairs to freely move. There are workshops and other educational activities, although these are largely based around the Polish school curriculum. Older kids and adults are also welcome to take part. Entry takes place in strict two-hour time slots (see below).
Ulica Żywiołów is near the Łódź Fabryczna train station and is served from a number of bus stops. The closest is Tuwima – Kilińskiego (EC1 Centr. Nauki). Use this official Łódź timetable to plan your journey. The whole area is heavily signposted with maps once you reach the EC1 campus.
Ulica Żywiołów address: Targowa 1/3, 90-022 Łódź, Poland
Entrance to Ulica Żywiołów takes place on the following time slots:
- Tuesday-Friday: 9am, 11.30am, and 2pm
- Saturday-Sunday: 10am, 1pm, and 4pm
- Monday: closed
Entrance to the exhibition costs 25zł on weekdays and 30zł at the weekend. Children under 2 are free.
Unfortunately, I didn’t find the advanced ticket site very useful. It is completely in Polish and didn’t work well for me in every internet browser. You can check it to make sure there are still places left and then just turn up in person and buy tickets on the door. The staff will be happy to explain the different options available.
All times and prices are subject to change, and opening hours may be different during public holidays. Happily, the official Ulica Żywiołów website has an informative page in English, unlike the other EC1 venues.
