Stary Rynek is an elegant Art Nouveau restaurant that harks back to the Polish cuisine of the pre-war era, and is one of the most beloved places to eat in the city.

This charming restaurant is named after the old market square on which it sits, in the upper part of the city. The decor is a charming green Art Nouveau style, with a floral frieze across the walls and fringed lampshades hanging from the ceiling. The effect is to step back into pre-war elegance of French-influenced Poland.
The food, too, is a contemporary update on the cuisine of that era, with Jewish Łódź adding to the Parisian mix. There is a six-course tasting menu, and a seasonal set with four courses. Otherwise, you can order from a carefully curated menu that includes caviar, borscht, duck, lamb, and stuffed potato dumplings.
