A visit to Poland brings the opportunity to try an Eastern European cuisine that is harder to find at home. Lavash is an appetising Georgian and Armenian restaurant, in the very centre of Łódź.

Within a large building on the corner of ul. Piotrkowska and Stanisława Moniuszki, opposite Ludwik Geyer House, Lavash is a Georgian and Armenian restaurant. If you’ve never had this food before, you can expect chaczapuri – an oval shaped bread, topped with cheese and a sunny egg, khinkali – Georgian dumplings, similar to pierogi but filled with a tasty broth, lamb kufte and a range of other enticing meat and fish specialities.
The food is very tempting and the extensive menu poses the problem of exactly what to choose first. The remade interior has freely-hanging edison bulbs and a novel criss-cross of ropes across the ceiling. It’s nicely done but the hearty food is the real star here. A big menu with so many hard-to-resist options.
