Many hotels are nice. Beautiful, even. Much rarer is the hotel with a singular vision and prepared to take a few risks. The Grand Hotel is stunning. (Check availability and pricing on Booking.com or Agoda.com).
It’s hard to know where to start when describing the Grand Hotel. The location is excellent, in the northern end of ul. Piotrkowska, as is the restaurant. Really, though, it is the interior design that takes all the prizes. Marble and wood flooring, distressed and exposed red brick and concrete, a mix of classical and contemporary, put together with clarity of purpose. This is most evident in the gorgeous indoor pool. Even the gym equipment is made with wooden frames.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with wide couches and swivel chairs. Some very high ceilings, particularly the astounding split-level, 2-bedroom duplex apartment, which can hold up to six people. Thoughtful lighting, fresh flowers, and cosy rugs complete the experience. Many rooms have a delightful oval bathtub. The service is impeccable too.
