With a giant sausage clock on the wall and blue Bavarian patterns on the tables, Bierhalle Esplanada is the Łódź branch of a Polish chain of German restaurants and pubs.

Though strictly speaking a Bavarian-style restaurant, this Polish chain has an in-house brewery that adheres to the 16th-century Reinheitsgebot edict, guaranteeing the tastiest German beer. You can usually choose from a Pils, Weizen, March, and Rosalie, which is a tasty, sweet recipe. Drinks come in the big Maßkrug, like a Bavarian beer garden and a 5-litre barrel of beer is available.
The restaurant serves up German classics like pork knuckle, schnitzel, and sausage, and can handle huge parties, but you are also very welcome to just drink here if you don’t want to eat. The building itself has a smart, squat deco exterior, directly on ul. Piotrkowska.
